Sweet Label began with a single mother’s dream in Cebu City, Philippines.
In 2017, Joyce, raising her young son alone, turned her homemade Pickled Papaya into a symbol of hope. With recycled jars, handwritten labels, and no support, she built a business from sheer grit and heart. Customers loved it—and asked for more.
Inspired by her grandmother’s legendary Cebu Torta—a buttery, fluffy pastry from her childhood—Joyce revived the recipe that defined her family’s gatherings. Her tortas became a sensation, earning her the title of “Cebu’s famous baker.” Every pastry reflected her obsession with quality and her pride in her Filipino heritage.
In 2023, love brought Joyce to Clearwater, Florida. After connecting with Mike, a Floridian, across continents, they built a future together. In 2025, Joyce and her two children arrived in America, bringing Sweet Label’s flavors to a new home.
